Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

1. Who we are

MemLabs is an online quantitative finance learning platform. When this policy refers to "MemLabs", "we", "us", or "our", it means the MemLabs platform and its operators.

2. What data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and (if you use OAuth) your provider account ID. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext.
  • Profile data — avatar image, display name, and any other profile information you choose to provide.
  • Usage data — course enrolments, chapter completion, exercise submissions, competition entries, and progress data.
  • Payment data — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but do not store full card details.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, and session cookies, collected automatically when you use the platform.

3. How we use your data

We use the data we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Track and display your learning progress
  • Process subscription payments via Stripe
  • Send transactional emails (password reset, email verification)
  • Improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We store your dark/light mode preference in localStorage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Google / GitHub / Discord — OAuth sign-in, if you choose to use it.
  • Render — cloud hosting provider where the platform runs.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Data portability

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@memlabs.dev.

8. Data security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but take reasonable precautions to protect your data.

9. Children

MemLabs is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have done so inadvertently, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the platform or by email. Continued use of MemLabs after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
